Luke had a horrible week last week. The picture shows it all. First Superbowl Sunday, Nate was making a pizza and when he took the pan out he forgot to push it to the back of the stove. Well, Luke in his curiosity reached up and touched the pan with his arm and burned it really bad. He is just now feeling better with that. Then the next day-Monday, he was playing with a marble toy that Nate had just finished making. It is made with wood and tin cans. Well, Luke tripped and fell right on the tin can and sliced his nostril nearly off. Nate ran him to me-with thick, red blood running down his face. I grabbed a washcloth, wet it and held it on his nose. There was blood everywhere. We ran him to grandpa-a doctor, and after much work, he was stitched-without being numbed. Poor little guy. He screamed for the next hour from the pain. When we finally came home, he fell asleep in the truck and I managed to get a photo. We are just grateful he didn't slice open his cheek-as you can see from the photo-it just got scratched. He had his stitched taken out this week and that was nearly as bad. He was so traumatized from his first experience that he screamed and wouldn't hold still. I sat on him and held his face while grandpa took out the stitches. Poor grandpa-he is always looking like the bad guy, but he is the one who made it all better. Grandpa. He called last night and asked if Luke still hated him. I just laughed. Luke will get over it eventually. :) He is finally better and he tells me, "My nose feels better mom." He is so excited about that.
The Marble Game!

Poor baby! I can't even hold Cooper down to try to clean out his nose when he's sick, so I can't imagine what it was like trying to hold him down for stitches! Dang.
Glad he's doing better now. At least he gets to play with a sweet marble game. Can Nate build us one of those?? :-)
As soon as Nate can work out the kinks, he is going to make a bunch and we will put you on the list. As soon as we figure out the tin can thing!! Can't let that happen again. :(

Sorry Little Luke! you tell your Grandpa not to stitch you up again under those circumstances.
Poor little guy! I can't even imagine how hard it would be to see your child in pain like that. You are a trooper Sherry!
