Our Sweet Luke

I have to tell a little story about Luke. I feel like I am always on him for something or other. He has a fiesty personality, which doesn't mix well with mine. :) Anyway, a few weeks ago (yes, I am just now getting around to tell about it) Austin kicked his soccer ball over the back fence. He normally goes and gets it but Nate was getting on him to get his homework done. So as soon as he finished his homework he told us that he needed to go and get his soccer ball. He went to get it and came back crying telling us that it was gone. Nate got upset that he lost his ball telling him that he had to buy a new one with his own money. Austin explained that he was told to do his homework when he knew he had to go get the ball. Well, after a few minutes, Luke came into the room with his bear bank trying to get it open. Nate told him to put it away and Luke started crying and said, "I am going to give Austin some money so he can buy a new soccer ball." My heart melted and so did Nate's. Luke, all on his own, knew how much Austin loved his soccer and felt the need to help out. I love moments like this. It makes me sit and realize how much I love my kids and how great they are.
