Luke stitches number 2

Here we go again.Christmas Eve Luke came upstairs crying bleeding. I aked him what was wrong and he said his chin hurt. I looked and knew that he was going to have to have stitches. We went and got grandpa to look at it and sure enough he said lets head over to the office and stitch him up.He was terrified. Last time he had stitches on his nose it was a terrible event. He wouldn't hold still to get numbed up so he has two stitches not numbed. This time I told him all he would have to do is to breathe the 'special air' and it would help him feel good. Wow did it ever. He was so upset and was saying he didn't want the light in his eyes or to get 'cream and a bandaid.' Once we convinced him to breathe the 'special air' or 'laughing gas' as Jeremy said, he calmed down saying in a slur..."I like the lights," and "Mom, I want to give you a hug." It was hilarious. Grandpa dripped some numbing medicine on his chin while breathing the gas and then poked him 3 or 4 times and he didn't even feel it. Thank heavens for the 'special gas'. And thank heavens for grandpa. This is the third time he has stitched my kids and the oldest is 6. Wow!
